It seems many bloggers are posting their planned or recommended reading for this summer, so for once I will follow the trend. Here is a shortlist for the first week in July, which we will be spending at a cabin on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast.
Bible study: God's Wisdom in Proverbs by Dan Phillips (Kress Biblical Resources, 2011)
Christian non-fiction: Church 3.0: Upgrades for the Future of the Church by Neil Cole (Jossey-Bass, 2010)
Christian non-fiction re-read: God Is the Gospel: Meditations on God's Love as the Gift of Himself (Crossway, 2011)
History: Punic Wars and Culture Wars: Christian Essays on History and Teaching by Ben House (Covenant Media Press, 2008) Note: while I did begin to blog through this book a couple of years ago, my endeavour never really took off. Ergo, round 2.
Novel: Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde (Viking, 2009)
Those are my best laid plans, so they are naturally prone to go awry. I will be sure to report back in mid-July as to what I actually read, and to lay plans for my next week of holiday in early August.
Happy summer reading to all!
