William Farley

Bill Farley arrived at this ministry in a roundabout way. The oldest son in a large Catholic family, he became a Christian while attending graduate school at Gonzaga University in 1971.

For eighteen years he served as a teaching elder, small group leader, and worship leader in a non-denominational church in Spokane. During these years he also built and operated a State Farm Insurance Agency.

In 1987 God graciously led him to the Works of Jonathan Edwards, as well as other important Christian thinkers. This was a watershed in his understanding of the Bible and Christian theology.

In 1994 he and his family began attending South Hill Bible Church where he taught the adult Sunday school class and served on the Board of Elders.

In June of 1999 he retired from the insurance business to concentrate on a full time ministry of writing and pastoral work. Bill’s articles have appeared in Discipleship Journal, Focus on The Family Magazine, The Pentecostal Evangel, Pulpit Helps, The Journal of Biblical Counseling and Enrichment Journal. Many of these articles can be read at this web site. He is also the author of For His Glory, a look at God's ultimate purpose in creation and redemption, and Outrageous Mercy (Baker Book House Publishers 2004), a book about lessons we learn from the cross. Bill enjoys writing but his first love is preaching God’s word.

In the Spring of 2002, after prayerful consideration with his pastor, he left South Hill Bible to join five families in launching Grace Christian Fellowship.

He is married to Judy, his best friend of thirty five years. They have three daughters, two sons, eight grandsons and one grandaughter.
