Gregory K. Beale received a B.A. in Humanities and an M.A. in History from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He also earned his Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1976 before he traveled to England, where he earned a Ph.D. in Divinity from the University of Cambridge.
As an author, Beale has published six books, forty-one essays, and ten book reviews. Throughout his career, Beale has read twenty-four papers at annual academic meetings.
Beale is married to Mary Dorinda Garrott, and he has three children, Stephen, Nancy, and Hannah.
