Eddie Gibbs, 1984 to present, came to Fuller from his homeland of England with an extensive interest in mission which included serving as a missionary in Santiago and Quilpue, Chile, with his wife Renee. Currently, his academic interests include evangelizing nominal Christians and assisting local churches to become evangelizing churches. The church's response to modernity and post-modernity in becoming a missionary presence in that context is the subject of his most current book inprocess. In the last few years, his teaching has taken him to Singapore, Korea, UK, and Switzerland, among others, as well as, around the United States extensively . Some of his publications include In Name Only (1994), I Believe in Church Growth (1981, revised 1985, 1989), Good News is for Sharing (1993), and churchNext (IVP-US 2001, IVP-UK 2002).
