David A. deSilva is a graduate of Princeton University, Princeton Seminary, and Emory University. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and holds the position of Trustees' Distinguished Professor at Ashland University, where he specializes in the fields of Second Temple Judaism, the social and cultural environment of the first-century Greco-Roman world, the Epistle to the Hebrews, and the Revelation of John. He has published eleven academic books and has contibuted over sixty articles to various journals and other publications.
