Charles Taylor

Charles Taylor was a celebrated journalist and author. He was a past chairman of the Writers' Union of Canada, and served as a juror for the Lionel Gelber Prize. A major figure in North American horse racing and breding, Taylor served as the Chief Steward of the Jockey Club of Canada and Director of the Breeders' Cup. As a journalist, Taylor worked for the Globe and Mail, Reuters, and the CBC. He passed away in 1997, but his legacy lives on in the annual Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-fiction.
