Kenneson is a graduate of Butler University (B.A.), Emmanuel School of Religion (M.Div.), and Duke University (Ph.D.). Prior to coming to Milligan, he taught at Duke Divinity School and Duke University. He is the author of Life on the Vine: Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit in Christian Community (InterVarsity Press, 1999), Beyond Sectarianism: Re-Imagining Church and World (Trinity Press International, 1999), and coauthor (with James Street) of Selling Out the Church: The Dangers of Church Marketing (Abingdon Press, 1997). His essays and reviews regularly appear in such journals as Modern Theology, Reviews in Religion and Theology, Anglican Theological Review, and Pro Ecclesia. In the mid-1990s, Kenneson served on the Missiology of Western Culture Project, a group of 28 international scholars examining Western cultures from the point of view of missiology. Kenneson currently holds membership in the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Christian Ethics, and serves on the steering committee of The Ekklesia Project, an ecumencial network of scholars, pastors and lay people working for renewal of the church in the United States.
