Joe Nesom

Joe Nesom is a native of Laurel, Mississippi. After army service with the National Security Agency and work as an college English professor, he entered the ministry in 1973. He has since taught theology and church history at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and has served pastorates in Mississippi and Louisiana. He has been pastor of First Baptist, Jackson, LA since 1983. His denominational service also includes the chairmanship of the Historical Committee of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and of the board at Louisiana College. Dr. Nesom is the author of Be Sure What You Believe, a popular-language introduction to Christianity.
