Believe it or not, this week we have another full slate of six new reviews for you. No fooling.
Tim Challies and I (Mark Tubbs) have reviewed two different books written about the same topic: the resurgence of orthodoxy among young Christians. Tim took on Young, Restless, Reformed by Christianity Today editor Collin Hansen, which zeros in on the phenomenon occurring amongst the young Reformed crowd, while I reviewed The New Faithful: Why Young Adults are Embracing Christian Orthodoxy, which tracks the resurgence among all young Christian adults.
Speaking of young, restless, and reformed, Tim has also reviewed an autobiography by Kirk Cameron entitled Still Growing, which chronicles Cameron's journey into the Christian life.
Scott Lamb's eclecticism is on display this week, as he provides a review of humorist Sir P.G. Wodehouse's anthology A Wodehouse Bestiary and one of a brand new homiletics volume addressed to both preacher and congregation, entitled Jesus Christ, the Prince of Preachers.
Tim rounds out the week with a look at the new Tedd & Margy Tripp book Instructing a Child's Heart, the long-awaited follow-up to the highly influential Shepherding a Child's Heart. Tim believes the wait will have been worth it for most parents.
Fortunately, the wait until the next Discerning Reader update is only six days away.
