Tuesdays are for Reviews

It's a four-review kind of week.

I wrote a review of Get Married by Candice Watters, a book that encourages women to (you guessed it!) get married. "Watters offers biblical wisdom and hard-won experience to encourage women to live like they wish to marry. She shows that marriage is a good and worthy goal and one that may not be too far off. The book will be a challenge and encouragement to any woman who desires to get married."

I also reviewed American Fascists, a book that is about as stupid as they come. Chris Hedges seeks to convince the reader that the Christian right (which seems to include just about any convicted Christian) represents a terrible threat to the peace and security of the United States. Christians are bent on the destruction of America, he says. Next week I'll have a review of his next book where, strangely enough, he turns his guns on atheists.

From Mark Tubbs comes a review of Evangelism Without Additives. Though not without its high points, certain criticisms compel Mark to refrain from recommending it.

And finally, Keith Mathison has a review of Embryo by Robert George and Christopher Tollefsen. In his review of this book, which deals with the abortion debate, Keith says, "This book will likely spark much discussion in the coming months and years and may very well prove to be a landmark book."
