We wish a happy new year to all of our Discerning Reader visitors. We have some great things in store for 2008 and hope you'll continue to visit the site throughout the year as we roll out some great new features.

We're starting the year with three reviews. I have posted a review of Love That Lasts by Gary and Betsy Ricucci. "This is a book about marriage, about the relationship of a husband and wife. But on a deeper level, it is a book about the church, about the relationship of Christ to His people. And this is the way it ought to be, for marriage exists primarily for His glory."

Mark Tubbs has contributed two reviews, one of Sermons on the Lord's Supper, "a new Jonathan Edwards volume issued under a new imprint: The Northampton Press. This volume is destined to be the first in a long line of Puritan re-releases superintended by Dr. Kistler."

Mark also has a review of my new book, The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment, which has just been released by Crossway. Mark says, "I am thankful, in at least one way, that earlier books on discernment are largely out of print, for otherwise readers may not have had the benefit of this volume. Challies has ‘updated’ discernment for a twenty-first century audience, and may this book see many reprints through the years."

We'll be back next week with several new reviews.
