Tuesdays are for reviews, and this week we have four new ones for you.
Mark Tubbs has a thorough review of the new title by Paul David Tripp: A Quest For More. He says "I am certain A Quest for More will leave you wanting more – of Paul Tripp’s writing, of big kingdom living, and most importantly, of Christ its king."
I offer a review of Running Scared by Ed Welch. A book that deals with fear, worry and the peace of God, I wrote of it "For someone who does not consider himself much of a worrier, I was surprised to find that this book offered me a lot to think about; it offered me a challenge to see where (not if) I worry. And as it offered the biblical diagnosis, it offered also the biblical cure."
Through some strange coincidence we have two reviews of books by Dr. Michael Haykin. Scott Lamb reviews Devoted to the Service of the Temple, a book edited by Haykin and by Steve Weaver. "Haykin and Weaver edited Collins for the modern reader, laying his thoughts on pastoral ministry and preaching at our feet for consideration. While the book is not long in pages, the words are loaded with direct and plain speaking." Meanwhile, Ian Clary reviews The God Who Draws Near, a book for which he has high praise. "Michael Haykin has done a great service in writing this, what should become a classic of Christian spirituality. The God Who Draws Near should be read and implemented by all Christians. Make this a gift and give it to as many people in your church as possible."
We'll be back next week with more!
