Tuesdays are for Reviews

Somehow, though I posted reviews last week, I forgot to write my usual "Tuesdays are for Reviews" post to tell you about them. I trust you found them anyways!

This week we've got four new reviews. From Scott Lamb comes a review of A Genuine Faith by Rodney Reeves. Scott says, "A Genuine Faith will give you an opportunity to witness the glory of the Savior through a fresh presentation of the Gospel texts."

The other three reviews are of books I read. First up is Masters of the Air by Donald L. Miller (not to be confused with the Donald Miller who wrote Blue Like Jazz. This is an excellent (but popular-level) study of the American air war against Nazi Germany during the Second World War and part of Al Mohler's recommended summer reading list.

For Us and for Our Salvation is the latest book from Stephen Nichols, a man who produces an incredible volume of writing. In this book he "shows how church history is relevant precisely because the controversies we face today are strikingly similar to ones the church has dealt with long ages ago." Looking at controversies about the person and nature of Jesus, he shows how the early church dealt with these same issues in a way that should continue to inform us today.

Finally, Misquoting Truth is a book-length response to Bart Ehrman's bestselling Misquoting Jesus. Timothy Paul Jones does a great job of examining Ehrman's claims and showing how they fall short of the truth.

I am not sure what books we'll have for you next week. I suspect you'll see a review of Joel Osteen's Your Best Life Now (and yes, I admit I'm a bit late to the party with this review) and we'll just have to see what else arises between then and now!
