Tuesdays are review days at Discerning Reader and we've added five new ones today.
Nathan Hale: Courageous Spy by Rachel Koestler-Grack is a short biography targeted at young readers and only one in a series of similar books by this author. Also in the category of biographies is John Newton: From Disgrace to Amazing Grace by Jonathan Aitken. This one is targeted at an adult audience and would make a very worthwhile addition to any library. And, while on the subject of a young audience, The Dangerous Book for Boys is all the rage this summer and we've got a review of this throwback to a whole different era.
Kindled Fire by Zack Eswine, who teaches at Covenant Seminary, is a book that is recommended for preachers and Iain Murray's latest title, A Scottish Christian Heritage provides a Christian perspective on the uncommon contributions of that nation.
Next week we'll review of a Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, the twentieth anniversary edition of a modern day classic, a Christian book that has been getting all kinds of press, and probably another book or two as well. Check back on Thursday to see what bookworm reviews we'll be adding this week!
