Iain Murray is an author and Editorial Director of The Banner of Truth Trust. A graduate of the University of Durham, he entered pastoral ministry in 1955. He served as an assistant to Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones at Westminster Chapel (1956-59) and subsequently at Grove Chapel, London (1961-69) and St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Sydney, Australia, (1981-84). In 1957 he co-founded The Banner of Truth Trust, the company that has since published all of his books.
Best known as a biographer and a church historian, Murray has authored several profoundly important and influential books. Among those regarded as his most important are The Forgotten Spurgeon, Spurgeon v. Hyper-Calvinism, Revival and Revivalism and Evangelicalism Divided. Among his much-loved biographies are a definite two volume set dealing with D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones and a highly-regarded biography of Jonathan Edwards.

Murray is married to Jean Ann. Together they have five children and ten grandchildren.
